I'll edit my first post to say "Results may vary"...
I'm very sure driving will be more fun now... it made the car shift and drive do much better. Maybe not faster but it's much cleaner.

Not sure if joking or serious. I consider 1 mpg irrelevant with testing and up to 3 mpg inconclusive without several supporting tank averages. In my hundred or so tank averages I only have but a handful of near identical mpg tank averages.
.1 mpg can be 10 minutes cruising 5mph faster or slower. Or idling for a couple of extra minutes ONE day.
Butt dynos can often be misleading. I had 6-10 extra hp after this mod compared to an earlier test, yet I didn't notice as any tangible difference in power in the meat of the powerband.

My butt dyno is a finely tuned precision instrument. After work on Friday I will be removing all the excess weight of work crap and driving to LA. Going over the mountain passes I will be utilizing this instrument to measure any increase in torque going up those inclines. On the return trip I will be driving the posted maximum velocity to measure any difference in mpg.

.1 seems relevant, considering the display has been pegged at 29.1 for a month.
I don't reset my MPG between fuel ups. So 29.1 is a avg over several months. It was even a little bit lower, but once I started this new commute, it worked up to 29.1 within a couple days and has stayed ever since.
Then I bypass the bypass and within 3 commutes, plus some aggressive bypass testing, it jumps to 29.2. I'm not celebrating as if thats huge. Technically it's a 00.3% gain. Ha.
I'm merely supplying a little user data. Which suggests that the mod has zero negative effects on fuel eco.

I applied slight downward pressure with a flat head screwdriver while pulling down on the vacuum line.

Getting the vac. lines off has given several of you some difficulty. They will come off, but I think you guys having the problems are going about it the correct way. Being cautious, and asking questions is a far better path than breaking parts.

Just my .2 as a newbie to this forum....
First off MPFAB is basically in my backyard so I had the opportunity to meet Walker personally. Stand up guy for sure!!!! His Sonic is sick!!! I was in awe after the little ride along I am really in awe of all the testing he does to back up his products... Cheers to you man!!!
Anyway, I just completed this mod this evening and like most of you it was a PITA to get those hoses off at first. My problem was I could hardly get my hands in there, but it is doable just be prepared for a little scratching....
The easiest was the hose from the BOV to solenoid, basically like Walker showed me and some have already said take a long flat head to push carefully that hose clamp..
The black/green hose was the worst... I pulled and pulled but got nowhere. I gave up out of fear of breaking the nipple so after a little contemplating I decided to pull out the razor. From the underneath the car, I cut the hose off, basically the end of the nipple so there was a remaining short section of hose on the nipple still, then just trim that little section off. The length of hose that gets capped is irrelevant anyway right....

I used a wrench and fit it on the exposed edge of the hose and taped gently with a rubber mallet. Also to seal off the green line here's an idea for you guys... go to Lowe's or home depot and find there 1/8" barbed end 1/4" threaded end brass fitting... then buy a 1/4" cap for it, use some blue monster thread tape and screw the brass cap down on the 1/4" side. That way you have a 100% solid guaranteed seal. Once it's installed just zip tie it neatly out of the way!

...I broke the zip tie holding the coolant line going to the heater core, it's also leaking at the point where it connects to the fire wall (only droplets). Think it'll be ok?

I cut the center of the green line going to the manifold, plugged the one going to the solenoid and relined the one going to the BOV... DONE
I'll fix it later when I port the manifold...

Great to meet you too! I felt like I let you down a little on the ride along. All the damn wheel spin in second wasn't offering much in the way of acceleration, not to mention the intermittent clutch slippage in 3rd...
Soon to be resolved!As long as the BPV is now directly connected to the intake manifold, you're doing it correctly. "100 ways to skin a cat" as they say.

LOL - at least I have plenty of snow and ice to give my dying clutch relief!
Ughh, don't remind me. Lately It's only been taking about 20-30hp to break the tires loose, I'm at that before 1500 RPM. Imagine how much fun I'm having lol.
On the plus side It's supposed to get warm this weekend so I might be able to do some more indepth testing.
