Turbo. Then Cams/springs, bottom end.
MPFab is right. But depending how big of turbo is added, the cams may soon become a bigger problem than just preventing more power.
The VXR and Corsa guys are putting 28 and 30 series turbos on there stock cammed engines, and aren't able to spool til close to the rev limits. Then when they add just a bit more lift and duration cams, that same turbo starts wheeling at a semi appropriate 4k RPM.
So if someone here has definite plans to go big turbo, it wouldn't hurt for them to get the ball rolling on what they're going to do about cams.
Now, if someone is gonna go with a gt20, gt22 or a k03, the stock cams "should" provide them with enough support to enjoy the all around added power of the better flowing turbo.
I do agree that chasing camshafts is a little rambunctious without plans for a bigger turbo.
I will try to get the cams/springs to the machine shop today, and maybe he can give me a little more detail on what kind of performance limitations they have.
