That just made my day right there.
I'll try to get some up later today. Honestly, it's kinda boring looking. I normally build these crazy, long tube, equal length headers that hold large mega power producing turbos, but in this case it looks almost factory.

There is nothing wrong with looking stock under the hood. It just means that the car has sleeper status and there's nothing wrong with having a sleeper car.
All I want to know is when you're sending me a setup at cost so I can start developing it.
Ha! The problem is the current "cost" is far more than what the production kit would sell for. I've not gotten anywhere with getting the manifold cast, and it looks like that is going to be tens of THOUSANDS of dollars..
At least my Sonic has a big turbo on it.

Don't be sad buddy...I WANT to bring this to production believe me, but until I sort out the surging I have with the current turbo I'm at a standstill. It honestly looks like another turbo may be the best option. There is too much work involved in just getting this particular turbo to function and stay alive. For example, the waste gate has to be ported in order to avoid boost creep, the bracket for the waste gate actuator has to be cut off and welded to another spot on the compressor cover, the thrust bearings and collars need to be upgraded(requires rebuild), and potentially machine work has to be done to the compressor cover to eliminate the surge. That an a$$ load of money spent on top of an $800dollar turbo. I need something that works out of the box.
I'm trying to be methodical in bringing this to market. It's gonna take time/money to get it right.
Nothing can be done to a sonic to not make it a sleeper.
I highly recommend a Borg Warner 6258. I've known of them to spool quickly without surge on jet ski's. If the 6258 can tolerate little jet ski motors they can certainly function on our 1.4's. The unique waste gate design should stop any boost creep right out of the box. The list goes on, they're really nice turbos.
Awesome turbo for sure, however it's a $1600 turbo, and the EFR stuff has a much larger "foot print", and it may not fit in the space available.
The EFR turbos have a ported shroud compressor cover. That's why they don't surge. No such cover for the small T2 framed Garret turbos.

Subie turbos are expensive and DSM ones are dirt cheap. Another option may be the VW turbos from their 1.8's. I don't know much about them, though. Maybe a T25 off a DSM or SR20 (SR20 version flows quite a bit more if I remember right) would be a decent candidate, too.
The good thing is that since you're making the manifold you can flange it for whatever turbo there is out there. It'd be baller to find a nice small V-band housing turbo.
