Changing the color of the instrument panel

i wanna be able to get it off so i can help out and also improve mine, but i do not wanna break my circuit board in the process. so tempting though..

As stated, you will notice the twisty metal pieces go through to the other side and are there to hold the LCD tight to the board while keeping the solder joints strong.

(Not securing the board another way, all the pressure/vibration breaks solder joints causing intermittent failures.)

If you untwist them, be gentle, and gently retwist them to fasten it again.
Just take pics of the other side and its edges, we might not need pics of it untwisted.
(Metal fatigue means you'll only be able to do it so many times and we don't want you to have an issue later for helping the rest of us. )

i would do it right now, but i have to leave for air force pt in about 3hours. I was going to paint my plastic trim part while i had it off, so i need alittle more time than 3 hours and a bit of sunlight.ha. i will deff work with it later tonight though and get those pictures.

Actually, there's a cheaper one on Ebay near Rocklin, wish I had $120 to experiment with. :\

Then again, if I had $120 I'd save it and put it towards an E85 upgrade!

like the tach and speedo? left side of the steering column there is a dial next to the light switch.

Hi! I don't know how it is in Netherland but here in Russia some guys swaped this switch for one that have a dimmer. Cars sold in Russia do not have a dimmer, it seems to me that Chineese versions do, and this switch is from China. With this swithc you do not have to cut or solder or do anything else, dimmer gonna work as is. But this is true for Russian versions because we have all the wiring in place and same circuit board inside the switch.
