cheap heated seat

Picked up a power port slot heated seat a few days ago for my GF's ancient ranger. She liked it so much I got another for my Sonic's passenger seat, and will probably get a two port adapter so I can run one to the driver's seat as well.

Twenty bucks each at my local Tru-Value hardware store, lightweight, effective, I can't complain.

From the packaging, looks like it's Hot Headz Products, Geared Up Heated Car Cushion.

Is it cheap crap? Yes, yes it is. Could it use a little modification to snug down better and to provide easier access to the high/off/low switch? Certainly. Does it warm your buns on 10F mornings? Yes. Now she's once again a Hot-assed GF.

There was a couple weeks when it was mid 20's at 5am when I leave for work.
The seat heaters start warming up by the time I get to the end of my driveway. Looooong before the heater core for the HVAC gets up to heat.

I'll take mid-20's over the **** we had the last week or two...coldest day was a HIGH of -4 and low of around -15. Then of course the rest of the days were slightly warmer, but wind chill made it feel worse than -15. I can deal with the cold, but when the damn wind starts up...**** me.

I always sneered at heated seats but these cheap cushions are making a believer out of me. $20 each is quite the bargain but it might be worth upgrading to in-seat model at $100 each, I'll be looking for your review for sure.

It gets low 20's here especially in the mornings but I dont need heated seats. Just wish the heater would work better.

mine came factory with heated seats...

however, jcwhitney has a carbon fiber kit (under the seat cover) that is a 2 piece set for 99. not too bad when you look at the price for factory.
