I havent had any problems besides the onstar diagnostics. Im gonna continue to use my ultraguage until i see a priblem.
Yeah I've seen that... but it's a problem with the scanner, which is supposed to shut down to prevent this. That's not a problem with your car caused by the scanner being plugged in, it's a problem with the scanner itself.• Radio will not turn off after turning off the vehicle
• Bus or LAN traffic stays active, leading to a discharged battery
If the service department can't figure out they need to unplug whatever's in the OBDII port in order to plug their machine in and reprogram your modules, they shouldn't be allowed out of kindergarten, much less near an actual car.• Problems reprogramming control modules either because of interference or the device will not allow the bus to power down
That's not a problem, it's a feature, and one of the reasons there's -always- something plugged in my OBDII port!• Interference with OnStar’s ability to provide diagnostic data
OK that would be a problem, but I've never seen or heard of it being caused by what you've plugged in. Still, if it happens, one of the things to try would be... unplug your UG and see if that fixes things.• Engine and transmission performance issues with the Check Engine light on
OK all of that sounds interesting, but same response as the first one above; never heard of it, but if it Did happen, well I'd try unplugging just to see if that helped.• Intermittent stalling
• Reduced power DIC messages and DTCs
• StabiliTrak DIC messages and DTCs
• DTC C0561 (System Disabled Information Stored Invalid Data) in the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) leading to a traction control issue
• No High Speed LAN communication along with various DTC communication U-codes
• Transmission will not shift for one key cycle (TCM in default mode)
• Instrument cluster gauges erratic or flickering
• Service Engine Soon or Check Engine MIL illuminated and numerous DTC communication codes such as U0100 (Lost Communication With Engine Control Module), U0101 (Lost Communication With Transmission Control Module), U186B (Electronic Brake Control Module Lost Communication with Transmission Control Module) and U1862.
Since there is no diesel Sonic, I doubt this will be a problem Also, there is no 4WD Sonic. But if unplugging my UG would magically turn my car into a turbo diesel with 4WD, OK, I'd do it, even though it meant turning on Skynet!• Diesel power-up devices resulting in no power in 4WD Low range
Remove the TPMS sensors from all your tires and this won't be a concern. Although, again, I have yet to hear anyone say this has happened to them, and it sounds like just unplugging long enough to learn the tires would take care of the "problem"• Service Tire Pressure Monitor System MIL illuminated; cannot relearn the Tire Pressure Monitor System
See Turbo Diesel and 4WD notes above• Hybrid issues regarding reduced propulsion power DIC messages and service high voltage charging system DIC messages
Having completed my quarterly pro OnStar rant, I feel better.
