Well I won't get into the politics of it. All I will say about that...gun control is not the issue. Yes, the facts show that in nearly ALL of these rampage shootings, the guns are obtained legally. But, the fact is, gun control won't stop this. If someone doesn't have a criminal background, they have the money, and can get the permits, then they can have guns. Other people who don't follow the rules can get guns their own ways. Laws won't be followed by people who obtain illegally. And for the record, I'm not a gun owner or an NRA member...I don't have any problem with people owning weapons who use them correctly and store them correctly and want to protect their homes or families.
Anyway...having lost one child, I could not bare to lose my other. I sympathize with the families because I know how it feels even though circumstances are much worse for them. My son will be in kindergarten next year and it scares me to think this is possible. When I picked him up from his mother today, I gave him the biggest hug ever and shed tears thinking about those families that weren't able to do the same tonight.
Now, as for the shooter. My thoughts are this. EVERY time there is a shooting. First thing they should do is leave the shooter anonymous. They don't deserve any kind of recognition or publicity. Many of them want that recognition...whether they live or die, they want to be known. The media should not give them the satisfaction.
The next thing is that people can be evil, but I'm pretty certain that the majority of rampage shooters have a chemical imbalance or mental illness. Many times in these cases there may be signs that something is going on or something is wrong with them mentally. If more people were aware of the signs that are shown in people like this, there's always a chance that people can get some kind of help and this may happen less often than it does. My opinion is that I feel bad for anyone in this situation that thinks this is the answer. My opinion changes as soon as said person acts upon these emotions/feelings/thoughts. At that point they deserve anything they get.
In this case, I would gladly find his body, hack him apart, burn his body, then piss on it.
This was the 7th rampage shooting this year. They said this one was the 2nd worst ever after Virginia Tech (and while I agree that in terms of number of deaths, it may be, I think that this is by far the worst based on the fact that these were young, innocent children who hadn't even begun to live).
My final thought is that I hope all of the families, friends, and anyone else affected can find some closure somehow.
