coolant tank

I am now on my 3rd coolant tank. They seem to crack underneath. Has anyone have any issues like me. 2012 ltz turbo.

Never had that issue but I did have a crack in my water pump.

Thanks for the info. I've owned many cars and have never had to change a coolant tank before. 2 times is a little strange.

I too am on my 3rd coolant tank. Good to see that someone has come up with a better OE replacement.

Use the cooler Dorman thermostat, a 9 or 15 psi tank cap,
tap in a thermostatic switch to the radiator, and the OE resivoir (as well as all the other failure prone cooling system parts) will likely never give you problems again....

It's not just Chevy.
I doubt you'll find a car maker that doesnt use lots of plastic under the hood.
Besides, plastic has been commonplace underhood on cars for well over 50 years now....
And if designed well, and sky high operating temps and pressures are avoided, plastic works pretty well.

It turns the cooling fan on at a much lower temperature than the PCM does.
It helps to keep both the engine and
(automatic) transmission temperatures lower.
