Cooling system issue

I am having the same issue. The coolant liquid is running fast but the mechanic sees no leak. I just bought a coolant liquid and filled myself. The mechanic said may just be normal, but this is not the Chevy's information from the manual guide. My car has more than 125 miles. Consuming a lot of coolant liquid at this point should be normal?

Not normal. Do yourself a favor and get the coolant pressure test kit from harbor freight. There are a few leaks that can occur on the 1.4 that you won't spot once it is running at temp. A few leaks that burn off because of the exhaust heat are the turbo coolant lines, oil cooler and the water outlet.

Most of the cooling system problems stop happening if you do the "Big 3" cooling system mods.
Cooler Dorman thermostat p/n 902-2080
Lower pressure surge tank cap
Available in 9 or 15 psi.
And last, a radiator mounted auxiliary thermostatic cooling fan switch, that will trigger the low speed fan operation at considerably lower temperature.
Practically all of the cooling system issues these engines encounter seem to vanish after these three mods are done.
Taking the excessive heat and pressure away seems to make all these parts last much longer.

I think I have figured out the thermostat and the surge tank cap. Now, can you tell me where to find the radiator mounted aux. thermostatic cooling fan switch (and maybe if there is a video that shows how to install it, link that too).

A new cooling system update for mine seeing as I've been on this thread before; they replaced the water outlet this morning (along with a front crankshaft seal). So we're now up to three cooling system problems on this car; the radiator fan in 2020, whose low and medium power settings had been corroded out, then a cracked radiator bottle a year or two later, and now the water outlet. And there was a tensioner pulley along the way too. That's the sum total of repairs in 90,000 miles. Five repairs. Three of them minor cooling system components. Some things never change at GM, they shoot themselves and their customers in the foot with minor little things and if people aren't as fussy as I am they get left until they cause major damage.
