Could bad pcv/valve cover cause low boost???

Been getting p0171, and occasional low boost code, PCV is deffo sucking in air, which I just found out ISNT supposed to happen. Noticed oil leaking from valve cover so I’ve just taken a look. Could the valve cover fix all of the above? Already ordered, just waiting for it to arrive

Usually when the valve cover goes, There is a problem with the intake manifold check valve.

Then read this one which has the PCV fix
2011-2016 Cruze/Sonic/Trax 1.4L Turbo Intake Manifold PCV Check Valve Fix

You'll need both the valve cover and this kit to fix the PCV system. If under warranty, GM will replace the intake manifold if the check valve is missing. Though the kit is bullet proof. so pick your poison.

It looks like my Check valves are all good now, holding good vacuum and PCV no longer sucking air, just finished my replacement valve cover install, will ya e to do the PCV fix some time later as I leave for deployment in January so I’ll be garaging the car for a few

Glad to read that your car is well again. I recently resolved the same problem by replacing the valve cover and the intake manifold on my 120,000 mile RS. I was not aware of the awesome kit mentioned above to re-engineer the intake check valve. :blankface:

A nice thing about changing the valve cover is that the extra inch of clearance makes it easy to remove/reinstall the intake by rolling it forward over the cylinder head.
