Ha, that's cheap and alot of work.

Easy way is
-support car so wheels are off the ground.
- remove valve cores and wait awhile.
- insert valve core and fill with nitrogen.

The legit way is similar only a machine puts the tires under vacuum and fills with nitro. Takes forever unless using step 2 from the cheap way.

Hmmm.

Can you wrap a belt around the tire and hook a vacuum pump to it? I seem to recall seeing a belt strapped around a tire to seat the bead somewhere.

Hmmm.

Then again, I remember someone filling a tire with carb cleaner and lighting it to seat the bead. I bet $ub$onic has done that... :D

Going to the dealer tomorrow to get my sway bar links replaced before my B-to-B warranty ends. Hopefully they get replaced.

Going to a new, closer dealer since the last one was not satisfactory. See how it goes, and while I'm there I'm gonna try to get the tech to flash in the RS steering program :D.

On a sad note I'm now flashed back to stock and put in the SAB. It's not as fun to drive anymore :sadbanana:.

On an interesting note I datalogged a run with the SAB and it appears to be down 20hp at peak and 15hp thru most of the powerband compared to my ZZP with airbox. I was going off an older log for the ZZP comparo but it has piqued my interest.

Gonna do a back to back test tomorrow to confirm and rule out variables.

I'm really interested to hear how big of a difference this steering thing makes. So much so I'm planning on driving an LT or LTZ when I have time and am out. I'm curious as to the overall feel, also a base (turbo) is on the short list of acceptable cars for my daughter in a couple years.

So my 3 month free trial of SiriusXM would have expired 8/30. They started calling me twice a day two weeks beforehand. Got two letters in the mail.

I'm addicted to the channels now of course, and had already decided I couldn't live without all these NPR stations. (Car Talk every weekday on my way to work instead of Stateside with Cynthia Canty?! I'm in heaven...)

Thought the 12-month deal (5 months free) sounded great and opted for that about 2 days before my free trial ended. (Still received calls for the next 2 days about getting a subscription - apparently their system takes forever to update)

Then, THEN - I get another offer in the mail (as their system sent it out before it realized that I already signed up for the 12-month/5mon free deal).

If I had WAITED for the free trial to END and let it go inactive, I could have gotten a 12-month deal with SIX months free. :mad::mad::mad:

I like free. I just might call and holler at them about this and demand I get the 6 months free deal instead. I haven't paid yet (requested an invoice in the mail instead of paying over the phone), so I would think they could re-bill me at this cheaper price after I gripe.

I have heard and read online that XM is very good about making deals so I would call them and demand the lower price and chances are you will get it.

I let mine expire and for the next 5 months I got dozens of emails and letters each with a cheaper price than the last. Tell them you have a friend that got a year of XM for $30 and demand they match it...see what happens.:cool:

Yep they are easy to negotiate with. Wish buying a car was as easy, "i like the car but I can't afford it, oh you'll cut the price in half? Hmmm so tempting but I have to watch my money, oh you'll also cover 2 payments as well? In that case I suppose I'll take it".

I still have no idea how people listen to XM and don't notice it sounds like ass.

It sounds like a 64Kbps mp3. Its not even that it just sounds bad to me, I literally cannot stand listening to it. The only high frequency sound you hear from it is digital garble.

This is a damaged valve seat out of one of the fridges I'm working on. It originally had a guide which I cut off to get a better picture of the seat. A needle, controlled by a float regulates the flow of refrigerant between the highside and lowside.

Question is, what damaged the seat like this? What really blows my mind is how part of it is completely undamaged which is the top area in this picture. Also, the damaged area is clean where the undamaged area has a tarnish on it. Material is believed to be Everdur Bronze.

Any ideas what would do something like this?

Well, the savings from getting 6 months free instead of 5 months was laughable - because of the pro-rated charge for the service between Sept 1st (the day my subscription started) and today when I got the new subscription with 6 months free.

I saved $5.20.

1-year, 5 months free:

$95.00 - SiriusXM service
$11.88 - music royalty fee
$2.00 - mail-me-the-invoice fee
=$108.88 total


1-year, 6 months free:

$86.00 SiriusXM service
$10.75 music royalty fee
$2.00 mail-me-the-invoice fee
$4.93 pro-rated charge for service Sept. 1-11
=$103.68 total


LOL. And my subscription ends Sept 11 next year instead of Sept 1 2014.

So if anyone else wants to try something like this... just let the free trial end and get the cheaper rate. Or do it ASAP after the subscription starts, not 10 days later.

Thumb drive with about 4 gigabytes of music on it and no fees for radio work for me. Would be nice if the stock audio could support some bass though. Dont need much, but the stock speakers just do not really work well for it. Something just seems to be missing in the audio experience.

I think XM has finally quit trying to sell me on radio service.

XM bothered me and my bf for months until he renewed for two years. I like xm for the techno and works for me when I travel out of state and don't want to find new radio stations.

Favorites right now are gareth emery, skrillex, and 3lau.
I would just consider them plain techno since they have
words in them and not just beats. Love love techno :)
