What do you do, if I may ask?

I work for a big roofing company doing all their computer drafting and proposal writing, my official title is Roofing Estimator but I never leave the office to estimate as all the plans come digitally to me for my estimating purposes and drafting.

Ahhh. Sounds like a unique job. Not the kind of thing you'd expect to be an actual job, as someone from the outside.

Same with me, I write "standardized work" for an auto company...like an instruction manual for skilled trades positions.

I just moved back to our townhouse because the sale fell through and I am back to the Miami to West Palm Beach drive.

Up @ 4:30am out the door by 5:15am to be to work by 6:45am and I am off at 3-3:30pm but don't get home till 6-7pm usually due to traffic. Took me 4 hours to get home yesterday because of rain.....4 hours to go 70 miles!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Under 20 mph average on an all highway commute :blankface:

And yes it does SUCK!!

Good grief. I can get home in 8 minutes if I hit the light right. One light and 4 stop signs. 4 miles.

Same boat here. I'd ride my bike to work, but that would mean that I'd be driving through a construction zone with no shoulder, and a freeway frontage road, in addition to the fact that 80% of my measly 4 mile drive doesn't have sidewalks.

For $4500 you can buy a real motorcycle and you won't have to look like a circus bear on it; at least in my case. Buddy picked up a 2007 Honda Shadow 1200cc for $4100 with 10k miles.

Life's too short to have a vajayjay (can't believe it censored a female organ) bike. :banana:

A 1200cc obviously is nothing like a 200cc for fuel consumption, parts cost, weight etc.

I'm fat and I look fine on a 200cc dirt bike, though the ones we ride at work are Kowasaki 200cc 2 strokes from 1989. 42HP if I recall, though a very narrow power band. Gotta love how expansion chambers work, they go from totally dead to you're standing up in the air.

As said before, personally, I'm against buying used bikes, I just don't trust people and I know people beat on them.

Much more so with sportbikes. They tend to be cheap thrills bought by younger males who don't maintain them as they should. More expensive cruiser bikes generally are owned by people who pay more attention to them.

Having seen the Volt, Ampera, and ELR at work I have come to a few conclusions. The Volt looks very bland, the Ampera looks much better than the Volt, and the ELR looks like it should have a turbo 4 cylinder driving the rear wheels instead of a hybrid FWD set up.
