47,000 damn near carefree miles.

By damn near I mean I add a bit of coolant once a year, had the swaybar links done for free and the classic wet passenger floor leak fixed for free.

I've basically put zero $$ into my Sonic for 47,000 besides oil changes and fuel.

I still need to do the air filter..................Maybe I should take it apart and have a look, for all I know the thing is spotless because of all the highway driving I do.

It won't be more than a few months before something else breaks, since I had my cracked valvecover replaced a month ago.

Bottom line is this - the Sonic will be sold in when it gets to 100k miles - not dealing with increased needs of high mileage on this car.

I'm at 42k now; I drive 20k a year. This means that the Sonic will be gone in 3 years. y then, it'd be paid off.

If I get far ahead on principal owed vs. worth, it will be gone sooner.

Honestly Im not gonna complain.
So far I have $100 added expense for a coil pack.

I did add a little coolant about 15k miles ago.

I was messing with the fan the other day and before I could still trip the relay and it would work but this time it was not working. So I am going to remove the fan and bench test it.

I have to investigate the stat more.

Example: last time coming home from work my temp went from 206-176-200 in a matter of a couple min. Past couple months I have noticed it's temp swings getting weird but lately it's getting bad.

I would like to ditch the computer controlled stat for a good old mechanical 195
