Colorado is on my radar as well. Supposedly Denver is one of the best cities for singles, which is relative to my interests.
About to head home from the office. Walk the dog and clean my guns. I guess they aren't dirty but I like the process. Clean right after a range outing and before (sometimes). Today I'm just bored.
P.S. Having the house smell like gun oil works well on southern girls. :banana:
Being a gun guy, is Colorado the right place for you? Legal "illegal" drugs and low cap fire arms doesn't sound like the place to be for a man with (I'm assuming) many rifles and pistols that carry more than 10 rounds...

I think the lever action rifles are still okay there as well.

You're absolutely correct and it would indeed be a consideration. But everything in life's a compromise, right? If the right job's there and if stars align, who knows, I may be able to overlook some of the drawbacks in favor of other larger benefits.
While I don't have "many" firearms, I do have a few. Looking to add another to my arsenal this holiday season. Been eyeing it for a little while now.
I'm also waiting for my conceal carry license in the mail. Submitted all paperwork and what not Monday last week.
EDIT: I used to live in Chicago before you could even legally own handguns in Chicago and before you had any option for concealed carry there. That's the worst state for gun laws, even now after the two changes mentioned above.

The CHL instructor was telling me that they've been seeing turnarounds of 15 days when I was taking the class a week and a half ago. It seemed awful optimistic to me as well.
Hopefully by end of the year. Hopefully. I'm still to find a holster I like anyways.
We're going from summer to winter in a day. 78* tomorrow and then Thursday-Saturday freezing rain and wet snow. What the hell is this crap?

ahtoxa, life is a compromise for sure. Being in the military for 15+ years I've had plenty of it. If the job, area and life style are right you can't argue a location change even if it means letting go of a few things. I can't wait to retire from the Navy and get back to my home town of North Dallas personally. While I was home my dad and brother were saying they have relaxed some of the requirements for getting and maintaining a CCW. Being military that process in Fl was a 30 minute process with a licenses in hand 14 days later during Christmas/New Years.
It looks like I need to pack shorts and blue jeans and a jacket for my boy and I for our trip home over the holidays.

I must be getting old. I got a book in the mail yesterday and had no idea what it was for. Not a clue. There was no card with it or anything as it was shipped straight from the seller.
So I sat it aside in complete puzzlement. It took me a full day to remember that my b-day is coming up, so the book must be something my folks sent me and it arrived a week early.
I've been forgetting my b-day for years now.

Itis always exciting when you get a mystery package in the mail. Most of the time I forget that I ordered something due to not expecting it for at least another week. That happened when I had some titanium valve spring retainers made for a Quad 4. They arrived the day after I paid for them and I had no clue what was in the box. I opened it and felt like a little kid.

Seems kind of dumb to mail anthrax dust in a huge box.
Point was, its a general rule to always be cautious with packages you aren't expecting.

Well, since it was a book in a box, if someone was gonna mail anthrax, they'd probably stick in in the pages. Because inevitably one would flip through the pages. It least that's what I would do, were I to send anthrax to someone. Not that I have any plans to do so...
On another hand, I am not ready to face the southerners driving in the slushy snow and freezing rain. Hell, they can barely drive in the rain, let a line anything that deals with ice and snow.
