Shoulda said it was your girlfriends and blew him a kiss, I love screwing with strangers that ask dumb questions. :D

One time I was walking into Sports Authority and they had the blood mobile bus there taking blood donations and had an older lady soliciting people to donate blood. I was in my normal don't bother me if I don't know you mood and she was asking every person in front of me to donate and all just kind of ignored her, when I got up there she asks me if I would like to donate blood and my response was "I DO DRUGS!!!!!!! Her jaw dropped and she had no reply back and when I left the store she wouldn't even make eye contact with me. :cool:

That's funny.

Once I made Jehova's witnesses (two guys) feel really uncomfortable. They came to my apartment to talk about god while I had a few friends over.

We exchanged greetings at the door and then I yelled "hey, baby, come here please. These nice gents want to talk god". One of my buddies clues into the game, comes to the front door, acts limp-wristed, and he then starts giving them the elevator eyes.

I have a friend who is Jehov and it is like an unspoken word that they all know each other. My friend was at my place one time and I had a knock at the door and it was a Witness asking if I was ready for the second coming of Christ our Lord and Savior and my friend leans forward to see who was at the door and goes "John?" They knew each other from camp when they were like 10 lol.

Yesterday, we heard on the news that a mountain biker got lost on a local trail that I ride weekly. He was riding with his buddies on the tough section and when they (the buddies) got to the shelter, he wasn't there.

This was at 10am yesterday morning

Search efforts have been underway since yesterday.

Today, I got a call from the trail steward of our MTB club. Police asked professional search and rescue services to assist as well as volunteers.

We spent 2 hours on the trail on our bikes looking for the missing rider. It rained all the time.

Soaked to the bone, tired and frustrated; no signs of the missing rider at all. Hopefully he turns up somewhere.

It is a reminder to those of us that enjoy remote outdoors to always be safe and look out for your friends that you go with.

Ugh.

Made a dumb-ass mistake today.

The brake pads on my MTB got contaminated, so the solution is to bake them. Contaminants will burn off and the friction is restored.

Well, dumb ass me didn't want to do the 1 hour in the oven at 400* and instead decided to speed up the process by doing it right on the burner (electric). Well, I had the coils way too hot. The contaminants sure did burn off, but the pad compound broke down from the heat and the pads are not serviceable.

I just ordered two new sets of pads - for the front and back of the bike. Total cost of my dumb-ass mistake - $32. Looks like rain is coming over the next few days and the trails are already drenched so the actual downtime should be minimal and I should have the pads by the next weekend.

The upside is that my front pads were getting pretty worn anyways and I didn't like these particular pads. They are after-market Kool-Stops, which were supposed to provide stronger bite than stock, which they didn't really do. They performed on the same level as stock.

This go-around I ordered semi-metallic pads from Amazon to replace these current organics. Based on the reviews, these are actually supposed to be an upgrade and provide strong initial bite and good modulation while keeping the braking noise low and non-intrusive. Hopefully they perform better when hot, too. Even though I don't ride Downhill discipline or anything major like that, I do experience 'brake gurgle' and some fade with the current set up.

Meh, I won't miss the Kool-Stops.

I should probably bleed the brakes on the MTB, since I'm getting new pads anyway. My front lever has been getting slightly mushy and I might have some air in the line.

BTW, that was a 1932 2.3Liter supercharged inline 8. Can't find a HP spec anywhere though.

Rather, specifically that one is an exact reproduction of the above.


The Alfa Rameo P3 seems to be of the same age and even meaner.

Here is the only description of it's engine other than it too is small, around 2.5 liters.

Front mounted, Alfa Romeo,
Straight-8 (two straight 4 blocks),
Twin Roots Superchargers

$ub, looks like around 200HP and weighs 1500lbs.

It'll take the Sonic in a straight line without a doubt. I don't think you're going to compete with something that light.

That is incredible for how old it is. An at 1500 pounds it would be a monster
