Hey everyone
So I've done a copious amount of reading through the forum and I've seen there isn't really a decent guide on how to install an aftermarket headunit.
By that, I mean doing it the right way.
This guide is mainly meant for those who are upgrading from the barebones stock radio. The one that didn't come with Bluetooth or USB
I decided to take the plunge and bought the following :
1 x Atoto F7 Standard (7" version) | Purchase here
1 x Metra 99-3012G-LC | Purchase here
1 x 40-EU55 Antenna Adapter | Purchase here
1 x Batige flush mount USB port | Purchase here
The above cost me $361 including shipping and customs fees to South Africa. It will probably cost you about $80 less if shipping within the US.
Now this is just the first post, once I've completed the install, I will add the guide. This will be installed thoroughly and properly. There will be no twisted wires that are then electrical taped. There wont be wire nuts, this will be a proper install, probably better than most audio installers do it. The idea is to keep things neat, tidy and to prevent wires from rattling around.
All connections I make will be soldered, followed with heat shrink and then wrapped in cloth tape.
