does the chevy sonic have a temperature gauge?

i think ultra guage is your best bet man, im looking to get one myself.. i hate those dummy lights, because in my opinion, by the time they come on, the damage is done.. especially when it comes to overheating

My F150 has a series of gauges that are actually idiot lights: they read dead center unless something is really wrong then they bury the needle. Useless, worse than useless since they fool you into thinking you can see what's going on.

My 93 Explorer which I don't drive much anymore these days has (or rather had) an "idiot gauge" for the oil pressure. The gauge itself is fully functional but was operated by an idiot light on/off sender unit, to convert it to a real gauge all you had to do was to put in a real oil pressure gauge sending unit and remove a resistor on the back of the gauge cluster.

I've read that newer Fords which have "idiot gauges" cannot be made fully functional because the limitation is in the gauge itself, not the sending unit.

Thanks Eric, my comment was meant to be taken good naturedly, just in case that didn't come across well. Not to derail this thread too much about spelling, but another really good reason for stuff to be spelled correctly is that when people search, relevant threads may not come up in the search results and we all know about new threads being started for topics that have been talked about a lot already!
