The tune can be flashed back on even if they over write the tune while its installed. It would just be a full push again and it wouldn't have the updates unless you have Vince go onto GM's site and incorporate the changes to the new updated tune. Trifecta isn't like Diablosport tuning where the tune is lost and a pain to recover. If my tune in my truck is over written its not a good day.

I've had Diablo for my trucks...hay do you have Diab-Lew and are you still waiting for TCM support? Ha ha ha.

ah, but technically, the Trifecta Tune likely does not have this bug fix - so we actually should be asking for new updated tunes based off this new code, otherwise we are flashing back to a older version of GMs code, that has been modified.

Yeah, I'm tuned by Lew for 87 and 93 and TCM support released back in June. It was more than worth the wait. Once I pick up the Doug Thorely long tubes I will have him clean it up again for the 87 and 93 tunes.
Back to the topic, yeah, if you're flashed to the updated tune at the dealer you will lose it when going back to the Trifecta tune. I haven't had the problem and won't mess with it until I have the problem, unless each time we log and get an updated tune he updates it to the newest release, could be worth asking about.

Just took mine in today for an oil change, no mention of an ECU update.

I took mine in because they needed a number off my new transmission. No mention of the update and afterwards the non starting issue when stalling is gone. I called then back and if they did update and they where very evasive but finally admitted they did. I wonder why they are being so tight lipped with this.

wierd, my service guy was very upfront about it...he even printed me an information sheet..I put the info sheet on the passanger seat and left for work...but when I went to pick the car up, the info sheet was gone.

I wonder if it could be a method to determine if a car has been tuned? How would it effect this?
"Stealth" feature - returns the factory original check sum when requested by a technician.
I would assume the new flash would have a different checksum. When you tune does it read the current tune to determine what the checksum should be that it returns, or does it assume stock tune checksum? If this is even how it works.
I'm hoping I can save the current tune (stock or updated by GM) before I do a trifecta tune.

^^possible but I see it as unlikely, I don't see the sonic tuning be an issue for GM warranty cost atleast now or in the near future. And it would cost GM money for this update (engineering labor) and thus unlikely (but possible)
