Engine Swap/ Pricing (Insanity)

Hey Rowdy, if you actually worked for GM you would've already looked through the global model range & found the 300hp engine & trans that'll bolt into the Sonic with the least amount of trouble.

& the engine is well capable of 400+ hp with mods.

The engine & trans will physically fit, custom mounts & driveshafts are needed & something needs to be done about the electronics.
I'm just waiting to hear back from a place in Europe about whether or not the custom driveshafts they make for this engine conversion in another car will work.

Keep talking **** though coz it's really entertaining.

The only reason I'm interested in swapping motors is because I want a sonic that will eat, at least, stock v8's and the aftermarket on these cars, being that it is new, is nothing compared to other motors. If I wanted, I would go out today and buy myself a brand new corvette (which is my favorite car). I don't want that right now, I'd like to be that "guy" that has a super slow looking car that eats stock v8's......preferably mustangs because I don't care for 'em. Why put money into this car... why put money into anything? because someone wants to. we could always say "why put money into that 4 cyclinder when you could go v6 or why would you go with a v6 when you could go v8" well why put money into a v8 when you could go v10 or why put money in a v10 when you could go with a v12... does the platform/ look of the car really matter or does the persons opinion matter?

There's a lot that can be done to roast Mustangs without having to swap out the motor. Refer to BNRs successes and Walker Morgan's 300+ HP Sonic.

Your best bet is a big turbo, hp tuners, injectors, intercooler, hard pipes and at least 20 hours of dyno time to dial in the tune. That should yield 300+ hp and plenty to whoop up on a LOT of cars.

If you're ready to drop $15k+ right now I have a very good friends with a shop in Colorado that will do a GM sourced V6 with a custom twin turbo and keep the FWD. No warranty, no guarantees, but all the damn power you could ever really need in a Sonic.

Now whatcha gonna do brother?

Lol. Your Dealership buys vehicles from GM. You sell your store's inventory. You work for a Dealer. That is not the same as "working for GM." A GMIN doesn't make you a GM employee either, just grants you access to Global Connect.

SFE bonus checks aren't the same as payroll on commission bud (which is paid by Bachman, not GM). Sorry to bust your bubble (but not really).

When I was in the Military I didn't just work for the Air Force, I didn't just work for the base I was stationed. I was a government employee and I upheld your right to talk to me the way you are. I don't just sell cars. I don't just work for the dealership that I work for, I work for and represent GM and I do it proudly. If a position became available in corporate GM I would take it. Now it sounds like you have a problem but it isn't with me. Now, to move on to more pressing issues, let me find you a good doctor because you have some issues you need to work through. I've said all I need to. Continue if you want too but I have other things I would like to take care of outside of this forum. It's called the real world and responsibilities. 15 cars a month? Not a problem. Junior sales rep? Nah, I'm experienced and can sell anything to anyone.
