Hey guys, I don't frequent the forum much.
Recently, I had a CEL pop, i think code 82, but not positive. Anyway, looked it up and it's crank position sensor. Car still actually runs though...
Anyway, i bitched when the car was new that it had a slight misfire at idle, just a little rough. Others said they have the same issue. Recently my idle would randomly get really, really, bad. Shortly thereafter i got the CEL.
So, i thought, awesome news! a CEL means the dealer will have to do something, unlike their typical fashion of saying they can't find an issue you are describing. This was 2 days before deployment, so I had to move fast. Brought it in with the code on the dash. Next day they say car is ready for pickup. There was no active code, nor a history of a code stored in the ECU. I want to call BS, but don't care too much as I'm deploying the next day.
I have to leave the car there to pick it up after hours (when I friend can drop me off there), because i drove myself to the dealer in my other car. So i get there, start the car, and just as normal, the code is right there on the dash.
So, i feel i'll get it sorted out in the long run when I get home. But I'm really here to ask, have any of you had this same issue? Since others had an idle similar to mine (before it got randomly real bad) i figure maybe this crank position sensor going bad is common for our motors?
Really hoping I don't get the run around on this...
