Evo X or STI?

So I know that some of you aren't going to approve of this but I have been thinking about this for a while now. I've been looking into getting either a Evo X or STI spoiler to install on my Sonic for a few months now. First I didnt want to post anything about the idea because I thought you guys and girls would think its a stupid idea. Started thinking about this back in July.

Obviously this would be a long term idea and not something I would do in the next month or two. I've been looking into the dimensions of the Evo trunk width to see of a Evo X spoiler would fit on the 4D Sonic. I saw a stock Lancer at my local Chevy dealer about a month ago and I had a ruler with me. So I measured the trunk width. But it curves in a little bit on the sides of the trunk so you can't find the true width. Havent found a STI or WRX lately so I don't know if those measurements would work either.

Yes I know that installing a spoiler doesnt make my car go faster. Though with the lines the Sonic has I think an Evo X or maybe a STI spoiler would fit well. There are a few of these spoilers online for sell but they don't have any measurements as well. I feel its too risky to order a spoiler to find out it doesn't fit and get stuck with an extra spoiler I don't need. I used to have a spoiler for a short period on my first car which I installed myself. Its not too complicated.

If anybody wants to say their opinion about this idea or have any info please share. I believe in the 1st Amendment which is free speech so insert your opinions.

This is coming from someone that is half Asian, and has an EVOX and a Sonic Turbo--- Have u ever heard the term " RICE, or RICER"

That's what U will be referred to, by everyone that knows anything about cars. I guarantee ur car will end up on all the forums in the "Ricer pix" thread.

Not trying to be mean bro, u will get much more respect keeping it real. Save the money that u would be spending on the EVOX spoiler, and the work getting it installed on the Sonic, and get an aftermarket turbo.

Wings are useless on a sonic as they are on most cars as well, I would just go with neither why would you ruin the look of your sonic with wing ? You might as well go to autozone and get a huge APC sticker for the wind shield and put turbo emblems on every panel of the car and while your at it throw some dub 24" emblems on there as well oh and maybe some whiskers and a huge Nike logo on your back window, also add a hood scoop, maybe some corvette taillights in the bumper just don't wire them up, get some chrome spinner hub caps, and last but not least some bad to the bone dragon decals on both sides of your car !! After all those upgrades you'll probably have the fastest sonic in the whole WORLD man !!! Word on the street is that the dragon decals add gobs of HP to the motor which is a good thing since you will have so many girls chasing you down in your chic magnet

Can we get someone to photoshop all of that so we can see what his sonic is gonna look like, I'm gettin a visual

There is a photoshop thread around here somewhere. You'd likely have better luck in there.

And if you want to put a big wing on your car, go for it. Haters gonna hate.

IMHO to each there own, if you think you would like the way YOUR sonic would look with the wind then DO IT! as stated by smitty boy

TieFighter have you checked out this design in the photoshop thread???
Personally I'm decidedly function over form but it might look cool and if the price is right and you like the look then who are we to stop you...

This thread gave me a silly idea!!! Old school road runner spoiler on a sonic hatch, I think that would look racecar. Old school meet new school haha.

don't put one on not only will it look bad, not trying to be mean just keeping it real but it will also effect your performance in a negative way, once you hit decent speeds the spoiler will force the back end of the car down which inturn will have the front sitting higher allowing more air to pass under the front of the car and will kinda lift the front end off the ground causing less traction on your driving and power tires, the reason they are on evo's and sti's is because there desighned with that body so they don't have that problem and when evo's and sti's hit the very high speeds they can they need the downfoce to keep there traction so please don't do it not only so you don't get made fun of but also to keep yourself safe

I don't see the wings being effective on any vehicle. you don't drive a lancer/sti at speeds where the wing actually creates effective downforce.
