Finally got a Sonic!

Hmmm. You think the Trifecta tune really makes a difference, even with the 1.8L auto? I had an Overkill tuned PCM on my Impala and it definitely made a difference with the transmission. If it's worth it, I would consider it.. Just maybe not for a little while. Gonna have to move into a new apartment and buy furniture, etc soon . Thanks everyone though for the comments... If so many of you love your Sonic this much, it makes me feel like I really did make a great decision in getting one

Not really worth it unless You get a intake and headers and stuff- personal experience with a 1.8 (manual)

I can say for sure... the tires on this thing suck hardcore. With just a little bit of slush on the road, it slides all over the place and I can feel the traction control cutting the power. This morning, I'm driving to work, and I'm stopping at a stop sign (I'm very gentle on the brakes), and the ABS kicks in ... the road was completely dry and clear, unless I hit some mystery patch of black ice, but I didn't see any. Even with slush/ice/snow with my old car, as long as I stopped gently, I never slid. I had pretty good tires on that though, Goodyear Assurance TripleTreds. I'm thinking the first major upgrade for my Sonic will need to be new tires ... not sure if I should wait until the warmer months, get new all seasons, and then get a set of winter tires in the fall.. or if I should deal with the stock tires for this summer, get winter tires in the fall, and get new all seasons next summer? I guess we'll see how I feel about these tires when the weather warms up.

I know exactly what you mean when you say that i've had a few time where i almost ended up in a ditch with slush on the road, and I wasn't going no more than 15mph. I highly recommend getting winter tires, I was lucky enough to get my hand on my sisters stock RS wheels and put winter tires on those. Maybe I should just ask her for her Rotiforms.. BUT yes if you live somewhere where it snows every winter get a pair of winter tires, or better yet find a pair of steelies you dont mind running on your car during the winter months with winter tires on them.

I'm in upstate NY... winter has been harsh this year. Not so much with the snow, but with the cold. I'm probably gonna get some winter tires mounted on steelies for next winter.
