We will try to be at one of the pavilions up front near the ocean, but if the lot is too crowded, then we'll have to move to the back of the park near the playground and sports fields.

Families are welcome and the park has playgrounds and even a dog park at the back of the park, as well as easy access to the beach.

Note: Since this is a public park for families, please everyone BE ON YOUR BEST BEHAVIOR! That means: no speeding in the parking lot, revving engines, burnouts, loud music, etc. Just use your head and keep it safe and fun for everyone. We haven't officially reserved a pavilion and we don't want to get kicked out by park staff or police. Our spring meet was a success even though we had some park staff keeping a close eye on us.

As of now, everything is BYO Beverages, Food, etc... but we'll try to get an RSVP list going below for people who would like to bring food/drinks to share.

This is as final as the plans are going to get.

We'll need drinks, chips, plates, charcoal, etc. so whatever you want to bring, just let me know and I'll put it on the list so everyone can coordinate.

I'm in. The park looks nice and I like being on the beach, but my only concern is not having a reserved spot for us, and running into the same problems as the last site.

Is there any park rules? How many members can the place hold?

i'll try to double-check the number of parking spots from the aerials. you can sorta tell how many covered areas with grills there are, too... unless 007 wants to do some recon for us.

the county parks website does have a number to call about reservation information, but we'd probably need someone who lives in the county to put down their name like last time.

Fires are permitted in designated fire rings only.
Please deposit all refuse in litter receptacles.
Pets are allowed in Volusia County parks during regular park hours.
Pets must be leashed at all times and are not to be left unattended. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their animals (County Code Chapter 14). Animal waste bags are available. Proof of rabies vaccination is required.
Dangerous or aggressive animals will not be tolerated in any park. Owners of such animals will be asked to leave the park site.
The speed limit within the parks is 10 mph.
Please do not remove plants, feed the animals, or disturb the wildlife.
Parents must supervise their children at all times.
Metal detecting is not allowed in any Volusia County park.

Then on the park webpage it says: To reserve recreational facilities, please call 386-736-5953.

I'm wondering if recreational facilities just refers to the basketball courts, tennis courts, and baseball field.

Ok, so from google maps/street view it looks like the front area by the beach has 4 small pavilions with a single picnic table, but no grills, then there is one larger pavilion near the front area that is set back from the parking lot a bit that looks like it has at least one picnic table and a grill. If we're going to reserve something, it should try to be that one. There looks to be about 70 parking spaces in the front area by the beach, which should be plenty. I've gone back through several historical photos on google earth and I haven't found that lot full once.

The back area doesn't have lined parking spaces, but it looks to be about the same size as the front, so I'm thinking about 60-70 spots back there too. Then there's a large covered area back there with 3 grills and about 3-4 picnic tables.

So, I'm thinking maybe we should call to see about reserving the front pavilion, or part of the rear one. If they're both reserved, then we may want to skip the BBQ and just use the front covered tables... I dunno, thoughts?

I don't mind a few drinks now and then but never around kids. I'll be partaking in rockstars and nos.
