Sorry for the crap pic.
Had a 2" catback bent with a resonator delete installed. It seems like it took a few days of break-in for the sound to settle out. On acceleration the closest comparison i can make is it sounds like a slightly louder than stock 350z. At idle it has a very quiet deep tone. No noticable drone. Cruising at highway speeds the sound is unnoticed inside. Both the resonator and oem muffler weighed in at around 20lbs on my bathroom scale. The dbx is a solid 9lbs. For those wanting a muffler that sounds awesome without being loud, this thing would be perfect.

I dint think its that tight, the pipe is up high for the stock muffler inlet and he has it angled down, so it's pretty much a straight shot from the hanger to the muffler.

It's pretty much the same set up as a cat back with resonator only, it just has the muffler/resonator at the back, so it shouldn't be any worse than a car runing just a resonator. I'm looking forward to his better videos when he gets home.

I understand, a resonator is not as quite as a muffler in most cases and his Flowmaster looks to be built quite like a resonator and reality they are all mufflers since they muffle sound.....lol

Mufflers make everything quieter, resonators bounce specific sound waves off each other to delete drone.

So they have zero sound deadening capability?! Why would DDM recommend a resonator only for the turbo and a muffler only for the 1.8? The resonator is still reducing the sound. The resonators that are going on most of these cars are not "tuned" to eliminate a specific resonance produced by our cars, they are just a round bodied muffler with a purefated tube in it with a "sound deadening material" wrapped around the tube. Now on the other hand, the stuff Solo does with the extra tubes built into their mufflers do however. If the resonators where something other than the standard 14/18/22" veriaty I could buy that as well. If you stick a resonator in its spot and a resonator in the mufflers spot it will be quiter, just not as much as muffler.

I went with this one because its design seemed liked a good combination of both resonator and muffler.

Which dbx did you go with? I'm looking to do the same with 2.5" tubing catback and whatever tip I think would look good. I was thinking a dual rounded square or 30 degree slash might look good to kind of offset the curves of the car (just like a 45 degree slash looked excellent on my New Edge Cougar).
