Hello, I just picked up a used 2013 LTZ with the 1.4L turbo engine and the 6 speed manual transmission. I mainly got it to save gas on my daily commute but also wanted something fun to drive. I don't plan on modding it too quickly as it still has a warranty but living in Alabama and being this close to Walker @ MPFab might change that idea.

Yeah, Many friends are telling me I should just go drop the car off at MPFab for a weekend. It's going to be tough to resist but I've got a lot of things I want to do to my auto-x car (E36 M3 STU trim) now that I have a daily driver. So my money will most likely go to it first and any left over might find its way to the Sonic.

I agree the toy should be modded. However I have a hard time leaving things well enough alone so the Sonic will get something done, even if it's not directly related to performance. Living down here in South Alabama the windows will be tinted shortly.
Anyone make a short shifter for this thing? I feel like I'm driving my old 2003 5-speed Dodge Dakota rowing these gears.

I think I was able to see more pics when searching old threads before I created an account. Now that I have an account I can't see the majority of the pictures.

Unfortunately for humans the mods had to do something to stop the spam bots. And it has worked great since.

If MyLink is the touch screen then yes, I have it.
I've got my iPod working through the USB input and love the interface. It's one of the easiest setups I've used to dig through all the albums and playlists I've got. I was also able to get my Samsung Galaxy S2 connected via Bluetooth and the sound quality on the calls seems to be good.

As far as mods I've already ordered the lower splash shield that was apparently left off because of some fire / recall? I don't like how open the bottom of the car is without it.
I think the speakers could use an upgrade and possibly a small amp. I might do some mat from RAAMaudio in the doors and hatch if I do decide to do a full install with an amp.
Being an auto-x guy I've already looked at suspension parts. Right now the GM upgrade looks appealing as it shouldn't void any warranties or any of the extras I got for buying a certified per-owned. Or I might wait and see if Koni decides to do some sport or yellow shocks for it.

Finally it's a hatch as I wanted the space for taking my M3s auto-x wheels and tires to my buddies local shop for balancing and flipping the tires when needed.
At this time I I don't plan on doing wheels on the Sonic. That's one reason I went after the LTZ model was for the 17s already there.

Ok I'm satisfied that your not a robot. But I'm not who needs to be convinced. I think a mod has to review your posts and be convinced.
It sounds like you have a good plan for your sonic. There are many threads on just about everything you want to do. Sometimes the search option doesn't help much. My suggestion is use google and search for "chevy sonic ______" or "sonic owners forum ______". It almost always gets you what your looking for on here. That's how I found the link to the short shifter thread for you.
