I did not go back to check, but my memory is the Fiesta had a yellow and a red, which should be more than enough color choices to satisfy the most jaded car buyer.

Agreed. The Sonic is considerably more aestheticly pleasing. More racecar less jelly bean.

I dont plan on sitting in the back seat of anything, unless it is indeed a limo. Sonic wins aesthetically for me as well, but 190 hp with overboost and less weight stock would have me a Fiesta right now if I had the two to choose from today. Hopefully GM gives the Sonic some real power from the factory in the near future. On a side note I would love to roll up next to a Fiesta ST and smoke it.!

My guess is that they are selling a lot more over there than they are here, so it's smarter to make them closer to where they are selling the most. Moving factories just doesn't seem cheap to me, though. I guess it's worth it to them. I'm so glad that I never got the fiesta back when the sonic wasn't out and I didn't know about it. The sonic is way better. I like a more rigid, crisp look, and the sonic offers superior features in it's ltz model.

Fiestas are already being made in Thailand, so it's not a move as it is closing their Mexico operations. With the next model (8th I believe), they are going to increase capacity.
The ST lists for $22,200 while the Sonic RS lists for $21,000. To me, that extra $1200 would be worth the extra 50HP (197 vs 148) and according to all reports, a very nice, dynamic, and superior to the Sonic, suspension setup. Downsides, the Recaro seats are an extra $2k and no one is, or should be, paying list for a Sonic. And the 1.6L Ecoboost is not very full efficient. Although not rated yet, I'd be surprised if it rates at 33mpg highway. Lastly, the ST is hatch only, and the LTZ 1.4T sedan is still damn nice. But for the difference in costs, you're not going to make a Sonic beat an ST in acceleration or handling.

I don't know about handling, but I think if I did an E85 Conversion on my car I could beat it at acceleration.

I don't think spending an extra $1,200 for 50 more hp would be worth it. When I buy an automobile looks are the most important thing with everything else following that.
The Fiesta is not that attractive of a car and it is smaller as well.

The May 27 AUTOWEEK has an interesting review of the Fiesta ST due in dealer showrooms August.
Price starts at $22,195 and tops out at around $27,000.
Six speed manual only available transmission.
197HP/214TQ 1.6L turbocharged I4 engine.
