That's cool, the waivers were designed for people who get in an accident racing and want to blame it on a performance tune or those who abuse and neglect their cars. If you think about it, no tuner wants to put out an unreliable and unsafe tune out because the damage to their reputation is much worse than any individual action. But everything these days has disclaimers, from toothpaste to air fresheners...!
Like you said, to each his own. Reality is, 99% of the time you still have good warranty and excellent reliability with a tune, and some people don't want to get stuck with 110 wheel horsepower in a 3000 lb car...
