FS: 2013 Sonic LTZ sedan 1.4L 6MT, WA state, $6000

I've been on the forum since Jan 2013 but I think my time with the Sonic is coming to an end. I haven't fully talked myself into it selling it yet but if someone came to my door with $6,000 we might make a deal. This Sonic looks original from the outside so it doesn't really stand out from the crowd but it does have some under the hood mods as noted below and does have an interesting documented history on this forum.

This is the Sonic that had the first Buick Encore 11.8" front brake conversion on this forum, maybe you've seen that thread.

Right now it's got about 145k miles on it, needs to be washed and needs the rotors turned because they pulse. And the rear pads need to be replaced due to some uneven wear when first fiddling around with rear brakes after the conversion. It has been driven spirited but never thrashed, still has the original clutch which holds as tight as new so you know it's been driven responsibly. Interior and exterior are in very good condition and never smoked in. Everything works and the motor/transmission have never been apart.

Still gets mid-30 miles per gallon and has a few upgrades as seen in my signature:

- 23 PSI tune with HP Tuners, about 180HP/210TQ at the wheels
- 42 lb/hr genuine Bosch green giant injectors
- Ported intake manifold
- Hard piped SAB, snorkel delete
- Bypassed BPV solenoid
- 11.8" OEM front brakes
- RS rear disc brakes, RS springs
- MPFab DRS (not currently installed)
- Chevy Cruze auto dimming rear view mirror
- Buick Verano dome light w/ accent lighting & backlit map light buttons
- Painted bowties, black lug nuts
- 225/45-ZR17 tires

I'm the original owner of this factory ordered Sonic, have all the documentation, window sticker, receipts and service records since new. I will be sad to see it go but I think it's time to move on.

Yeah used Sonic pricing is kinda weird, I see some older ones like mine that guys are asking $10k for which seems high to me but most are between $6k and $7k. Well hit me up if you want to take a road trip out here haha

Also it's about to turn 145k miles so it'll get another oil change soon, and I didn't post any interior pics but it's all standard LTZ stuff like heated seats, touch screen MyLink, it's all in great cond.

Here is what I'll be driving, it's been in the family since new, in fact I was at the dealer the day it was purchased in 1987. It had been sitting for the last 10 years so it needed a few things, I've been alternating driving it and the Sonic.

A little update... I'm still daily driving the Sonic and it got it's 145k mile oil change a couple weeks ago so the oil's good for a while.

Shortly after that the upper radiator hose started leaking so it now has a new Gates hose as well as the plastic hose connector assembly that bolts the drivers side of the head.

Aaaand a few days later on the way home from work it stumbled coming off the freeway, set the check eng light and looking at the fuel trims it was adding a lot of fuel. When I pulled in the driveway and popped the hood my suspicions were confirmed... the PCV diaphragm ruptured causing a vacuum leak through the check hole in the valve cover as has happened on so many other Sonics. A quick trip to the local Chevy dealer parts counter and it now has a new OEM valve cover and gasket with integrated PCV valve.

She's running as good as ever now and I thought I'd take the opportunity to post a pic of underneath the valve cover while I had it off, this is at just over 145k miles with oil changes every 5k miles using Mobil 1 5w-30, it looks virtually new in there. Also thought I'd post a couple interior pics while I was at it, all standard LTZ interior stuff - heated seats, MyLink, etc. The driver seat is not ripped, that is the sun hitting it, and the MyLink screen is dusty.

FYI, I have a 2013 LT 1.4L Turbo auto and got crazy offers from Cavana and Vroom of $10,200 and $9,400 before Christmas. I don't need to drive anymore so I decided to hold on until just before Graduation time when Parents and Grandparents are shopping and will sell it then, hoping demand pushed prices again...

Update: I sold this to Kendall Chevrolet in Marysville, WA mid May of this year (2022). I did see it on their website for a few weeks but it doesn't seem to be listed anymore this morning. Whomever bought it know that you are getting a well cared for car, only use premium, and if you happen across this forum feel free to reach out, I'll hang on to all the paperwork and service records that the dealer didn't want for a little longer.
