I thought that sounded high also. He said he did some research and found them going for $3500-$4000 back in '09. Apparently it's a preban and they don't import them anymore?
I have no idea what it's worth. If anyone knows where to get updated gun values from I'll pass it on to him.

I would need to know more about the rifle to track down pricing, if it's a rare weapon it might be worth that. 08 was a bout the first Obama gun scare so the prices may have been high then as well, the second Obama scare has passed as well, it's just some calibers of ammo that are hard to find/expensive. They were charging 50 bucks for a single Magpul PMag that msrp's for 10 bucks, now they are trying to give them away again.

Connecticut Gun Owners Fail to Register; Officials Push ?Amnesty?
Connecticut has been trying to push new laws here since the Sandy Hook shooting, and we had about 145 pages of new legislation take place Jan 1. Now mags over 10 rds have to be "registered", and "assault rifles" too. According to this article, I'm nowhere near the only one in "noncompliance". Oh, and we can't order ammo online anymore. Let the price gouging begin.

That's still better than NY gun laws. We have to have a background check every time we buy ammo, all magazines that can hold more than 10 rounds have to be destroyed, sold out of state or turned over to law enforcement. Not to mention we are only allowed 2 "evil" features on any new or used gun purchase.

Removable magazine or clip
Bayonet lug
Flash suppressor
Pistol grip
Semi automatic
Adjustable stock
Grenade launcher
There may be more but I can't remember

The criminals will do what they want.

I have a feeling that's where CT is headed to Hedgehog. I always thought "well the gun laws here suck, but at least I'm not in Mass or New York." Now it seems CT is trying to catch up. It just made me smile that by some estimates over 90% of people just ignored the new law. Gives me some hope for this country.

I would like to know how many guns are in NY and how many have actually been registered. I only know of a small handful that have been registered. Most people I talk to wont register out of fear of confiscation. Why else would they need to know who has them and want to keep track of them?
