after my passes at the dragstrip last night, I don't think you have anything to worry about it not being faster than the Eco Cruze. I lost 2-3 tenths in 1000' by throwing my buddy in there for a couple passes and he weights 300lbs.
Same engine and almost exact same transmission (minor gearing change) and 300-500lbs lighter. The sonic will be pretty freaking quick for a econbox. 2-3 tenths off my fastest times would have had me in a dead heat with the 2011 RS Camaro I raced.
