Headlamp aiming

So what's with the single screw for aiming the headlamps? What does it do, move both at once? And is it just up and down, no right/left?

My high beams are pointed at the ground, but to lift them up do the low beams move up too? Anybody got an exploded view of the adjusting mechanism involved in turning that adjuster?

I miss my Hella 500FF Driving on my previous vehicle. No place to mount them, unless you mount a light bar to the bumper (the real one behind the grill) and out through the grill.... hmmm

Mostly gone are the days of L/R, U/D aiming. It's usually just U/D, if you need more adjustment than that then something's bent or broken.

Both beams a tied together with the same reflector piece. You move both when adjusting. IIRC there should be 2 adjustments. I'll try and get a pic of a loose headlamp tonight. I think the 2nd adjustment is in the back.

So I just got back (Monday) from a 3000 mile cruise... from Madison WI to Las Cruces NM and back.

Awesome journey, Awesome Scenery, car performed flawlessly! 100+MPH across NM Deserts is something to be appreciated except... The High Beams being aimed below the Low Beams.

It's really a problem as you are always over-driving your headlamps, a First 'Rule-Of-Thumb' when high-speed driving.

Has nobody a solution? I can't be the only one with this problem!

The spare headlamp I have (GM P/N 96830971) only has one adjustment point on top, between the high and low beam bulb covers.
