I may be ordering this in the next couple days.

With this kit, you don't lose anything but the basic car controls (chime volume, lighting settings , etc) correct?

As far as I'm understanding it, yes, that's all you will lose.

However, I'm not familiar with the settings the radio in the LS controls, so you may lose more, I'm unsure.

Yeah that one has been brought up a few times, I'm not a fan of it.
$390 for a navi unit is one of those "too good to be true" deals and will most likely die. If someone else wants to try, go for it, and report back

Im wanted to get the metra-99-3012G on SonicElectronic.com
but does it come with a LCD monitor for it or will i have to buy it along with the unit?
If not,
where could I find a monitor that fits that plastic trim?

That kit allows you to fit any standard Single DIN or Double DIN headunit in there. In other words, just about any "car radios" that Best Buy, Walmart, or things similar sell, will work.

I know everything about audio systems just not about head units so it caught me off guard when it says Single DIN or Double DIN units, ill have to research more about them to see what they exactly are. Thanks for the info man. Appreciate it.

&i might just wait for your input when you decide to get yours. ive seen on the forum you plan on keeping all the sonic owners updated. good.

An extra 1k for AC, power windows, heated mirrors, and chrome etc isn't gonna hurt that much.

Double din is one of these (note the size difference)

So what exactly is the size i would need if i were to get a double Din for the unit?

"Doudle DIN" is the correct size name. If you were to go to Best Buy and and ask for a double din, they can help you, or if you go online looking at them, anything labeled double din will work.

I'm gonna start posting a status up date every day.

- Right now, still waiting on my payment to clear (gotta wait for the item I sold to get to the buyer)
- Listed a few more things for sale on eBay, Craigslist and other forums, waiting for bites on those.

Don't think I'm selling all my stuff just to do this I've had a large pile of items in my room to sell, but never got around to it, this just kinda put me over the edge to do it. :banana:
