Horrible start up shaking the whole car

So lately but everyday mind you, my sonic wil pulsate and shake violently on start up! Shakes me in the seat...this is a problem i dont feel like taking to my dealership because they treat me like im crazy with my random power losses. Anyway its 1.4t with the 6 spd stick. Not sure if its a known issue!?

I've had the same issue with my 1.4 for the last few mornings. Just that first start of the day, no other times. I'm taking mine to my dealership tomorrow morning and they are keeping it overnight so they can start it Wednesday morning in hopes of having it happen. I'll update when/if they find anything. Please do the same if you wind up taking yours in.

Have you had a large swing in temperature? We had our first morning in the 40Fs here in MO.

Yes, we have gone from 80-90 degree days and 60-70 degree nights to 70 degree highs and upper 40's to 50's at night. I also just had the turbo replaced in mine last Thursday, so mine could possibly be related to that.

I think it has something to do with open loop tuning from the factory. I had the same issues when it cooled off with my 1.4t. Can you video it?

When I had that issue with mine, the ignition coil pack was defective, causing #4 cylinder to misfire. This condition caused the cel indicator to flash when the engine was running.

I've had the same problem since new. Been to the dealer once. They couldn't figure it out. Only the first start of the day. After the car has sat for 10 hrs or more. No CEL.

Its only once on start up, no cel. Ill have to record it on my phone cause my dealership thinks im crazy...ive been in twice lately wih loss of power...

Mine was the intake manifold (I think that's what it was) was cracked and was letting unmetered air in and causing the car to run extremely lean. It is a known defect and they replaced it with a new supposedly upgraded unit. Was covered under warranty.

My 2012 1.8L 5M did this once in a blue moon. Shifting into neutral for a second resolved that occurrence.

I had it when I opted for premium. I mean why not, gas is so cheap, I don't mind the extra 3 bucks. I filled it the first time, and it was like..nah dude. Stalled about 10 times at idle. Finally cranked and held idle for 5 minutes. Been running fine since.

There are so many unnecessary electrical components in these cars, sometimes I wonder if that's the cause. Like the damn fuel pump.
