boost is limited to keep you from destroying the trans

The M32 transmission is good to 236 ft. lb.s of torque.
I have dynoed as high as 222 ft. lbs. at 22lbs of boost.
I believe gotboost has the right of it. Luckily, I am done with my planned power mods.

Is it the clutch that puts the limit to 236 ft lbs or the entire tranny in general?

I do not know. I know TravsSonic believes its the clutch, and he some experience in this area, so that could be it. Interestingly, per what I have read on non-Chevrolet car forums, the M32 is considered to be a strong transmission.

on 89 E0, my Ultragauge has gotten PSI readings up to 12PSI, but no higher. I'll try my next tank with 93 E0 and see if it gets higher boost.

I get 22 psi all day long Ive even seen 23 psi on mine

I've had mine up around 16psi a few times with no mods. It usually runs around 12-14 for me
