Just updated the original post with the new correct bulb, thanks for posting the link!
Only the turn signals require resistorsDoes this LED map bulb require a resistor or just plug 'em in and go? And is it the same bulb for the rear dome light?
Actually the main reason I want to switch them to LED is, today I was in the car and had the map light on for at least 10 minutes and the lens got so hot I couldn't hold my fingers against it. It may still be safe but the heat will surely degrade the plastic lens over time.
OP lists all the lights and they are not tbe same. Read that.
Thanks Blue RS. Yes I did read the bulb types on the 1st page, and the link for rear dome appears to be the correct and updates link, whereas the link for the map lights went to a bulb that didn't look right, so I wondered if the OP had perhaps forgotten to update that link as well. If you say it's correct, then I'll take your word.
Thanks GreenGhost.
Well, I'm ordering those lights today. So I'll let you know![]()
The Map light link is correct, they're NOT the same style as the dome light in the middle of the car, these are all exactly the same bulbs as I used on my car![]()
Yes. Mine flicker just a bit when coming on. At least that's when I notice it.
Does anyone else notice a flicker with the map lights when they try to dim on? (ex. When you take the key out or unlock the doors)
you put the resistor in parallel?! ... that explains that...
Could you tap the power before the resistor? I thought the resistor is only necessary to have the blinker flash at the correct speed as an led doesn't offer resistance like a bulb does. The resistor is tapped into the positive (turn signal) and negative on each side.

The switchback should take full 12v as it doesn't blink, only alternates color based on voltage input
that's dope dude. Glad to hear that was the solution as I've been braining out my light build since I bought. One of these daysOddly enough I did this last night before seeing this post and it worked. So you were right on the money! A small section of white LEDs are out so I'm going to return this set and hope the replacement works as it's supposed to.
