that's dope dude. Glad to hear that was the solution as I've been braining out my light build since I bought. One of these days
Thanks man! What do you have planned for your lights?

Retrofit HID projectors, possibly quads, demon eyes, led turn signals, led drls like yours... Spendy build so I need to save up (and hunt for good deal on good parts) Ski season is right around the corner so new skis and ski rack are priority in the budget first. Thanks man! What do you have planned for your lights?
Hi everyone...i am a new user here. I have the D2 Rigid knock offs on my GEM they are floods. They are from a company called sidetracked off-road. They do a great job as headlights. I would say they project 40-60 yards no problem. And the beam is pretty wide. I also have a light bar mounted up top that projects real far 200 yards or more. Here is a video of both lights in action. The light bar is again from the same company.
From what I've read about LED lights, you should turn them all on when you start your car and allow them to warm up. It seems they just need to be turned on to warm up. Hopefully this helps.**sorry for cross-posting, but I wasn't sure which thread is more appropriate**
Let me just start off with a few of these...![]()

NOTE: I've replaced all of the halogens in my 2013 Sonic with LEDs (except the fog lights)
So, the last few weeks, I've noticed that whenever I switch on the high beams -- whether flashing them or turning on full-time -- only the passenger side bulb turns on the FIRST time they're switched on. If I flash the highs and flash them a second time, both bulbs turn on. Same if I turn them on, off, then back on again.
I've checked the connections and nothing seems to be off. I reversed the bulb to make sure it wasn't a polarity issue and the same thing happened. Now I'm stumped :sadbanana:
Anyone experience anything like this with LED high beams? If so, got any suggestions what I can do to fix it?
What is the best way to install LEDs light bulbs when using the dust covers that are provided with the headlights? Can they just be left off or do they require special treatment? If I am mentiontiong the wrong part, I am talking about the covers behind the light bulb.
I am new to the forum, I have a 2016 Sonic Hatchback (owned it for less than a month)
I am wondering the same thing. My LED's have a bigger heat sink so the dust cover no longer fits. Has anyone had the same issue and what di you do to fix the problem. . .
TIA.
I haven't seen a specific thread for this so maybe a good place for all to place there finds. Since the 2017-18 has a different headlight arrangement.
I upgraded just the stock Low Beam Projector lights to an LED bulb. IT works very well, no flicker, plug and play.
Of course, the small dust cover needs to be fitted with another type in order to fit the larger LED and it's driver and allow some room for air to circulate for cooling.
since May-June I've been running with the dust cover extensions and swapped LED bulbs with our other car so it would have LED headlights too. Everything running just fine.
Note: there also are a number of rubber dust cover extensions in various sizes on Amazon. I used a pair of 85mm on our new 2017 Sonic . .. the Equinox/Terrain may need another size.

I did upgrade to a better bulb with a newer chip and brighter light output and coverage.
Currently, the bulbs have a coupon deal for $42 a pair. Very nice bulbs and about the same price as a pair of those short lasting halogen upgrade bulbs.

I ended up using these. I swapped all my lights out for LED, and put in full CANBUS cancelers and resistors. Honestly it was a lot easier than it looked on here.
