How to Remove Broken Belt Tensioner

Hello SOF peeps!

I need to remove the belt tensioner and the "tension" bolt you use to compress the spring is stripped and spinning. I do not have a belt installed at this moment.

Can I just unbolt and remove or do I need put that little "pin" back in somehow?

When I push/turn to compress the spring, the bolt simply turns in place.
This is a brand new GM one and replacement is on it's way but want to get this out and be prepared for the day of delivery.

I'm pretty sure you can just unbolt and remove it if you haven't already

If the tensioner is already defective and the bolt is spinning in a vacuum, you should be able to remove it by simply removing the fixing bolts. No need to put the pin back, especially without a belt in place. Just make sure you have the right tool to avoid damaging the support !
