I have some minor scratching in on the bottom of my driver's side door jamb

I am almost 100 percent sure I bought the car off the lot like that but didn't notice it until a couple of days later but how can I prove it? Anyway how could I repair it myself or what is your opinion on what to do?

I got the same thing from me getting in and out everyday and my shoes hit there all the time.

Okay I took some pictures. It's hard too see but there are some " scuffs " a few inches up from the actual scratches towards the front of the car.

I've got scratches there too and I've been careful to prevent it. Chevy sells sill plates to protect those areas. Some people here are using vinyl to do the same thing on the cheap.

My shoes would not make scratches that big believe me...and I never step on the jamb anyway so that's how I know it wasn't me and nobody else drove my car except for the dealer.

Good luck proving that it was the dealer. Those look like they will come out with a little elbow grease. Have you tried rubbing them?

I had that same thing with my car. I noticed it when I was test driving it and told them to fix it when I was buying it. They ended up having to repaint the area since it was so bad.

I don't know if there is much you can do now since you already purchased it and left the lot.

I found a few scratches on my RS 3-4 days afte I bought it. Dealer took care of them.

Tell your dealer you didn't notice them and see if they'll touch them up for you. If not, get a bottle of ScratchX and a nice microfiber cloth and buff it out. It'll take a little bit but it'll definitely improve the scratches.

Buy those fancy AVEO lighted scuff plates off flea bay if it helps.

My car looks about like yours, color and all. The worst damage is on the plastics fortunately. It happens, and it will happen again. I care deeply about my cars and I've never managed to keep a pristine door sill. The door sills being so fricken wide on this car compared to the tin can I had before this gives it more area to damage and look bad.

My car is a month old and those scratches did not come from me as I do not step on the Jamb at all and I am the only one who drove my car besides the dealer...no matter I will fix it when I get the time. My dealer now my X-Dealer will never see my car again.

We don't have problems with rust here in central Texas.
