I would use hood spacers. You don't need much to open the seal. As for venting, it might not work that way, especially once the car is moving. There is a downdraft from the windshield that would push against air trying to get out.
Look at how Rallye cars vent engine compartment air.

exactly why i didn't cut... The layout shown was a little too close to the hood release and I didn't want to spend another 1.5 hours mocking up the higher location. Day off is Thursday so probably get r done thenDefinitely don't rush. Patience and steady hands save time and money![]()
