If you do not know what wires your tapping into DONT. Vehicles now a days use a Body control module. Most circuits with the bcm are a Voltage high / Voltage low monitor circuits, there is almost no amperage in these circuits. If you wire aftermarket things in you could mess up the BCM and it would not be covered under warranty. If electrical puzzles you computers controlling electrical things is a complete different ballgame.
If you cant afford a professional to install take a class.
You could have ran it to the power port and they auto turn on with the key, instead of cutting a hole in a panel other then that looks good
Yeah not a big fan of generic stores either, but when your bored on a Saturday they sure are convenient. Plus I wired them with female and male crimps so all I have to do is unplug if I ever want to replace. I like how you lite up the back passengers, think ill order me some from led glow and do the same.
Hello and greetings from Europe.
I also wired mine to the dome lights. It is the most convenient way for me, as they auto turn on and off with stopping the engine, unlocking the car, etc.
Also did the back seats.
The last image from the 3 images above is of the back seats. I'm adding another image, maybe this one is better.
All four lights are wired to the dome light, not the door switches. Dome lights activate before any door is opened (when I stop the engine, when I unlock the car, etc). Also manually turning dome lights on turns the floor lights on. I find this way works best for me.
