If you do not know what wires your tapping into DONT. Vehicles now a days use a Body control module. Most circuits with the bcm are a Voltage high / Voltage low monitor circuits, there is almost no amperage in these circuits. If you wire aftermarket things in you could mess up the BCM and it would not be covered under warranty. If electrical puzzles you computers controlling electrical things is a complete different ballgame.

If you cant afford a professional to install take a class.

No, Can't afford a professional, and have no clue where to find a class. But I've been on a vacation, and am now turning my attention back to adding interior and exterior lighting. I'm doing more research on the web, will focus on the cigarette lighter circuit, and am looking for other sources of information at the library.

Interior Lights

Here's my LED lighting that I bought from AutoZone:

I just tapped from the spare fuse in the fuse panel.:banana:

You could have ran it to the power port and they auto turn on with the key, instead of cutting a hole in a panel other then that looks good

almost exactly how i did mine, except i placed my switch below the hvac unit... that is till my woman kept ripping them off the panels with her big ass feet and i took them out of the car completely. lol.

It does that now, i just enjoy having the option to turn it on or off

Got mine from ledglow.com, and 6 different modes with 1 that flashes to the music. You get what you pay for.

Yeah not a big fan of generic stores either, but when your bored on a Saturday they sure are convenient. Plus I wired them with female and male crimps so all I have to do is unplug if I ever want to replace. I like how you lite up the back passengers, think ill order me some from led glow and do the same.

I wired mine into the dome lights. When the left light is on, the left floor is lit. Right light= right floor. Also when you open the door or hit the remote they get bright and dim like the rest of the interior lights. You have to solder the wires to the contacts by the switches. Tuck the wires above the headliner. Remove the drivers side A pillar, run the wires BEHIND the airbag on the pillar then under the dash. With this set up there is no need for extra fuses (there is a dome light fuse already) or switches.

Edit: I should note that I used 14awg (thats what I had laying around)wire to run the power from the dome light switch to the LEDs. Using smaller wire than the factory dome light wires does require a properly rated fuse for that size wire.

Do you have any pictures of the back seats? Where did you mount the lights? And did you wire them to the front switches or rear switch?

did you notice any issues when reconnecting the battery ground? I've heard you have to be careful if you have the onstar back up battery

European Sonics don't have OnStar.
And I didn't disconnect the battery cable as I wired the leds to the dome light - just make sure the dome light is off, and wire away.

Did you run the wiring up to the headliner or did you find the wiring down below the dash to have lights work when dome lights are activated by remote, key removal, etc..

I had a Cruze before and I wired them right under the center of the dashboard near the headunit.. Was easily accessible removing the passenger center access panel.. Checked on the Sonic, it don't have the same board as Cruze..

I got the led lights that sonicboy recommended to everyone. I by no means am a master electrician or know much about cars but had there installed seamlessly in under an hour... the pulse to music feature is pretty sweet. check it out here
