Hey guys. I've been on here for oil change procedure, specs, etc. Truthfully ai kills platforms like these, but nary the soul that foolishly trusts ai for lengthy specific car repair procedure as I myself have learned as part of a little experiment. I have a 2017 Sonic rs, bought it in 2019 with 30-40k on the odo. Ive always wished they made this car in a manual... Its treated me well. She's got o'er 250k on her now. Only really ever had cooling issues, and turbo issues in the winter... the suspension is pretty lame too, i think ive broken a few of those plastic sway bar links.
I run nokian hakkepalita 3's in the winter, and whatever in the summer. i have a uniden r8, someone stole my front dash cam, but it was a redtiger or something? in the back i have a 10" truck subwoofer/amp underseat stood up and velcroed to the floor of the trunk, the crossover is installed in the little cubby by the usb ports in front. Mute button for the r8 is crudely stuck on the fuse lid cover i think? i have a fuse splitter in there powering it so my cigarette outlet is free for the dash cam.
Ive done basic maintenance, and my own wheel bearing, lower control arms, and brakes... more on that i image at some point lol.
I recently tore off my front bumper running through a 3 foot drift built like a linebacker. thinking of building a tubular front bumper, but i take on big crazy theoretical projects all the time. i have friends in the steel industry and access to plasma cutter, waterjet table, scrap mild steel (steel warehouse size scrap). Was working on building a float valve into the stock sonic coolant tank, but obviously it would have been wiser to just take an entirely different coolant tank, i found one out of either a sunfire or a grand am to fit/almost fit.
