Making exhaust/car louder

Im not made of money and was wondering if i could delete the res and install a borla or magnaflow muffler if that would give my 1.8l 5 speed a good sound?

just delete your muffler and put a pipe in its place.

add a test pipe and header think this may be a bit on the loud side for me but i think it would make eric happy lol

3" pipe sounds really good, i can hear it chambering the engines movements. but on a serious note, what eric said... Muffler delete and replace with pipe. If thats not enough then remove res also. Them two deletes arent too awefully loud. But if you delete a cat its like whoa damn... Lots of sound comes out.

damn you and your header!!! lol im jelly... and also i have run abour 6 or 7 different exhaust set ups on the 1.8...

first i removed the muffler , was impressed, never had a car sound that decent by just cutting the muffler off..

then i added a glasspack out the side.. only sounded good at certain rpms

those are what u wanna do if u want it just a little louder

then i removed the res and put in another glasspack, a bit louder, especially in the car, still sounded like ass only at certain rpms good

then removed the 2nd cat, a pinch louder

then removed glasspack res very loud inside car, deff sounded sexy but again only when i was gettin it

then did my custom exhaust, 2.25" piping, 25" glasspack res, and a knock off fart car out the back, crush bent.. now im looking to mess with the 1st cat, or get a header.. but my current set up is deffinatly very nice, the 1.8 sounds a lot meaner than it is with a good set up, i got a sound vid too... unfortunatly only with my current set up, but here it is... ive run 3, cat back muffler no res, 2nd cat back and now header back. and yes no cats is loud lol waiting till im not sick and may get under and see if i missed a seal lol
