My engine is a beast, perhaps, and the sweet exhaust, and the glassy slick clutch... but I've done nothing to the suspension. Only difference between me and anyone else at 125 would be how quickly I got there and how easily I could go higher, and the new rims and tires.
Do rims and tires really make that much difference?

I bet braking would be less choppy with them square tires than with Sonic ABS.

W rated tires?
I have a "ticket" open on this but wanted to ask here too. I asked about removing the limiter. Trifecta told me "we can’t remove the limiter unless the tires are upgraded to Z rating". Safe answer.
I am looking at some W rated (186MPH) Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetrics. Based on my research, these exceed Z ratings. Have not heard back from Trifecta yet--and am curious how they would know whether I was using stock H rated tires or Z or W....sales receipt?
So if the limiter is removed, is the vehicle then limited theoretically by drag, or until the engine blows?

Stock what? Drag limit to me says it's based on the exterior design of the vehicle. Mine, post tune, will do 124. If they remove the "limiter", and they are drag limited to 124, then no gain if they do? C

Stock horsepower of course. More horsepower will be able to overcome the drag.

Question is, does the Sonic have a limiter that will prevent it from going faster than some given speed, other than the pure physics of hp vs drag. I'm pretty sure BNR isn't saying they can eliminate physics, but it's equally hard for me to imagine that Chevy put in a limiter that will allow you to go to some speed over 125 (I can state for a fact that the car isn't limited at any speed lower than that) but not over some other speed.
There is a RMP limiter, around 6500, but you can cut that in while going under 60 (in second gear), and won't run out of gears to go under 6500 in until you're somewhere north of 210mph. I wouldn't consider this to be speed limiter, it's more of a "how hard can you push the engine" limit. I have considered asking to have it raised to 7K though... but I don't see what tires would have to do with this, since again that could mean going 65mph in second, which our tires could certainly hold, and you can go 125 in fourth in stock OEM tires without any monkeying around from BNR.

Normally GM and most other manufactors set there speed limiters to what the speed rating of the tires to ... S rated is 105mph so why trucks have a low top speed. I have not looked i am curious what speed rating my tires are...
