Meth really is a very good set up for the cruze.The snow kit is one of the best for around 400 bucks.It allows you to run over 20psi boost and keep the combustion temps down.Thats the key keeping the temps down.This is what damages pistons.Go to snows web sight and do some reading on it.It was used on WW2 prop fighters to and it allowed them to make insane HP increases.Your talking 3000 hp prop plane engines and 500mph.Meth is serious performance.It can net a good hp and tq increase on a tuned cruze

100-110 proof is only 50-55% alcohol.
Moonshine is damn near 195 proof, almost pure alcohol.

Anyway, meth install will be interesting to see on these cars, e85 is one thing, meth is another.

I am aware of how proof is measured. Notice that I said usually, and I was referencing the moonshine that is typically distributed for consumption. That is not to say that there aren't distillers out there that can make high-test moonshine, but I have never heard of 195 proof moonshine. I believe that requires better facilities than your typical moonshiner has access to. If my estimate is low, then yours might be high.

Absolutely, Boost is the measure of the resistance to flow. I would rather have the engine move 20lb/min of air at 5psi then 20psi for sure. Since the turbine in our cars is rather small, a lot of pressure and heat get backed up into the head of the engine and this is where meth may present a great benefit on this engine setup. The job of meth/water injection is to cool the cylinders, which in turn means that more timing can be added back in, creating more power. Since there is so little timing that can be ran on the 1.4L under full boost compared to the LNF 2.0L, some meth might allow a couple degrees of timing advance. We have seen 1 degree of timing add as much as 10hp at the wheels in some of the 2.0L engines.

So it will be interesting to see what the little 1.4L will do with some meth/water sprayed into it for sure.

I think e85 can do pretty much the same things as meth injection with less complexity, unless you don't have access to e85.

It doesn't. Methanol lowers intake temps more than anything. If you're lucky you can find some windshield wash that is the correct ratio. I used to use it in my dsm.

because squirting ethanol into your intake has no cooling effect. the point being that either method allows you to run more advanced timing and boost. they are different means to an end.

Not really, thats pretty much the same as normal fuel. E85 let's you run higher boost and compression ratios without a big chance of detonation. Meth cools the intake tract to near or below atmospheric temp, so in a turbo car you don't have sky high intake temps. As for the whole timing conversation, go ahead and play with timing on some stock economy pistons, don't come posting a thread about how you blew your ring lands off.

If you're cooling the intake tract wouldn't that mean the air entering the combustion chamber would be lower?! I think you have some learning before talking about charge temps and timing before giving advice...... Most of us leave it to Vince/Trifecta to adjust our ECM for performance.

my moonshine burns clear. i thought it wasnt on fire until i felt the heat off it.

I did already email vince and he confirmed the ability to tune for meth.

DDM - when is that piece going to be on sale?

The only thing i have against running the washer reservoir is how small it is. I filled mine up the other day from empty and it only took about half a gallon.

When I'm completely out... Wont spray anymore I do not use the whole gallon of washer fluid is what I mean.
