Might be purchasing a Sonic today/tomorrow

I have been talking with a dealership and after a lot of research and thinking about what I want/need out of a vehicle I think I am going to choose the Sonic over the Spark. I'll be trading in my 07 Mustang GT on it.....so that will be quite a change lol. But I have a 35 minute commute everyday now to work so I think it is the right decision. The Sonic is not the turbo version, but still should get pretty good mpg right?

Just found this forum and wanted to become a member.

Anyone hear choose the sonic over the spark? Still happy with the decision?

When I saw the spark in person I didn't even have to think about it.

The 1.8 sonic won't get quite as good mileage as the non-RS turbo version, but it won't suck either.

Welcome to this great forum and You're doing good in choosing the Sonic! I normally average 29-30mpg. Will you be getting the auto or manual trans?
Let me just say that 98% of the drivers here will tell you to get the turbo.


Oh and I would for sure choose the Sonic over a spark, that car just looks too small and akward to me.

Yep I chose sonic over spark. I'm small so I wanted a small vehicle but the spark was too small for me. Love the sonic

I went from a 94 Lincoln with a Dohc 4.6 ( ironically very similar to the cobra motor) to my sonic.

34-36 mpg stock. I am very happy with it

Not according to Consumer Reports, which when they tested them, the 1.8L did better, though much will depend on how they're driven.

I've got the 1.8L and when you're doing 55-60MPH with the cruise control on, it does get 35-37MPG. Driving it otherwise will drop the mileage.
