Muffler Size??

Hello, so this is my first time modifying a car and I wish to swap out the stock muffler. I have the 2012 sedan (non-turbo) and I'm switching out the muffler with a cherry bomb glass pack. What is the best size to put on? I also noticed the tailpipe is pretty long (like around 12 inches) compared to many other cars. Is a tailpipe necessary? Should it be straight or to the side? I'm going to get the new muffler welded on there so if anyone could give a newbie a little advice that would be greatly appreciated!!!!

There's a few members that have the exhaust rerouted to exit in front of the driver side rear tire. They made it look classy but it can be done crappily very easy.

Your pipe from the cat back the muffler is 1.75" and the tailpipe after the muffler is 2 1/4".

Thank you. I'm fairly new to the forum as well as you can see lol and thank you. From my searches it seems like going a tad bigger (2-2 and 1/4 inches) on the glass pack wouldn't hurt. I mean, welding will make it fit I'm assuming, or do you need an adapter?

Any good welder will enjoy making it fit perfectly. Most shops have those size glass packs in stock

I understand the glass pack is pretty much a straight pipe. Will the loss in back pressure hurt it/effect its performance?

No.

Until you start ripping off cats, performance will stay the same.

A muffler will not effect it.

I heard it wasn't considered a muffler and I could get fined for not having one/not passing an emissions test
