The two small GM badges are stainless...they stick REALLY well, but a hairdryer takes them off.

The rain guards are held on with 3M tape...it also came with some odd plastic/metal supports, but I didn't use them...the tape is very secure.

I work at a GM dealer ship and I hate the badges. All GM badges just remind me of saturns anymore for some reason cause that's mostly where you see them. I like what he did with turbo badge tho adds character to the engine. I took my sonic badge off and put on my dash.

Looking good bud! The rear cargo mat is a nice looking practical addition. And those lil GM badges are a subtle but nice addition.

SO much would like to lower and put spacers on the wheels shown above....but $$ doesn't grow on trees....

Pinstripes

Added some black pinstripes... The dealership had a few with it, so I'm trying it for now. Double black lines, another option could be a black/chrome line...

Not 100% sold on it yet....

The build continues....slowly!

Updated the pinstripes to go over the front wheel arch (like I've seen others online here)

Cheap exhaust tip for now. I'm looking for a cat back that isn't boy racer, or "fart can" loud....still investigating

I'm still looking for some wheels...and some stuff may be removed...but for now I like her. 33mpg average and plenty fast enough (FOR NOW) to not get blown off the road...

I thought this one was fun too!

It begins!

Few updates:

• Got rid of the window deflectors, cheap
• Got rid of the dash cover, looked like a toupee
• Got rid of the sill plates, really crappy
• Added hood struts, best $$ I've spent, love them!
  
  

Now the fun begins, I'm getting ready to mod, some stuff is on, the rest is coming:

• Dipped the rear bumper, like the look, hard to know when to remove the tape!!

• Hood deflector...

• ASA GT 06 wheels...17X8, Man they're wide!!!

Bought 3/16th spacers from DDM, not installed in this pic

Finally, I'm adding:

• B&G Springs

• Magnaflow muffler (staying with 2.25" as I'm not looking for the loud system, just a little depth..)
• Magnaflow polished tip

Can't wait!!!!!! Soon!

Then I'll enter the Sonic of the Month Contest...I'll feel worthy!

I told Black Turbo LTZ I was gunning for him, (he's still got the nicest Sonic here IMHO!)

I am liking what I'm seeing, keep it up!!

I've been struggling with the decision about what springs to get, so thank you for adding this flavor to my list.... How did you decide on these, pros/cons??

Well, I've only seen two types of springs.
Eibach and B&G
difference about $40-$30'ish between the two... I chose B&G since they drop about 1", Eibachs are 1.2" & 1.4" which isn't really that much more for more $$. Here in MO, we have potholes and speed bumps.. I wanted just that little bit, but not too much (low looks good, but you trade harshness and scrapes for the look)...

I'm thinking I can install myself, I'll need to buy a 24mm socket.. The 21mm's which holds the struts to the front suspension assembly seem to come off easy enough. I'm worried about the 24mm nut to take off the top of the strut, will that just spin? It looks really easy to DIY this, and I don't want to spend $$ I don't have for what appears to be easy installs....

I think the 1" drop will also keep the ride closer to OEM than really low.

I did my springs a few weeks ago and there was no 24mm anything, idk where that came from in the DIY write up.

You will need a spring compressor, no way around that. and an impact wrench for the nut on the top of the strut or it will just spin

Nothing to prevent the strut from spinning? No notch or keyed slot?

Yep the top nut is 24mm. And I believe that the end of the strut shaft itself takes a t50 (i think that's right) to keep it from spinning.

Yea, you're all right. I had a dumb moment haha i didnt have a 24mm so i used either a 15/16th or 1 in. Cant remember and it worked perfectly. And it does have a bit fitment on the top but i dont see how it could come off doing it that way. It would be quite the challenge

a pass-thru/go-thru socket would be ideal. I wish I had bought a set before tackling springs.
