Need help

I went to go up a hill and my air intake got real loud and the car didn't want to accelerate it start to big down at like 2500 rpms I made it home but as I was driving it got worse I was able to get the car to start and run at Idle, but as soon as I would hit the gas pedal, it would buck out and turn off and now it.wont start it goes to try and start but only if I push the gas pedal but soon I do it bogs out and turns off I don't think it's the fuel pump bc it seems like it wants to start only if I push the pedal and I can smell the gas when trying to start anyone out there can help me plz

Hmm do you have a 1.8L sonic?...sometimes people with 1.4L turbo engine issues ask for help here. It's very rare a 1.8L would have an issue like this but if it's the 1.4L could be the turbo itself failed or a gummed up 1st bank catalytic converter. If it's not starting the ecu is in a safe mode and I would recommend first getting a obd2 reader and check the trouble codes. A failed first bank cat would do this. My 1.8L lost power because of a bad tune on wide open throttle. I got a p0171 and p0420 code turns out the main cat on the exhaust manifold was cooked and I was running mad rich in fuel like 11.7/1 ratio. And just saturated the cat and caught fire. My car wouldn't start until I uploaded a reasonable tune and replaced the cat, spark plugs etc. Please scan for trouble codes first
