Description
RACE THE STRIP, NOT THE STREET. Street Legal Cars, Trucks and motorcycles racing on a safe and legal dragstrip. All vehicles must pass a simple NHRA safety inspection and have working mufflers, limiting noise to 90 decibels at 50 feet. Driver must have a valid driver's license and all drivers under the age of 18 must have an annual waiver of liability, signed by their parents on file at the track. These forms can be downloaded and printed in color or obtained at the track.

All Winners will receive a trophy and their name will be listed on our results page as well as NHRA's National Dragster weekly magazine and on Sacramento Raceway's Wednesday nite Street legal Drags page.

Categories: Fun Runs(no eliminations), Sport Compacts, Motorcycle and Street Machines.

Gates Open: 4:00 PM
Time Trials: 5:00 PM
Eliminations: 7:00 PM
Pit Admission: $7 per person
Pit Parking: Available only to participants, free parking located in the front lot.
Race Entry: $15 includes car and driver

Most of time they don't even check or even pop the hood, from my experience.

they just make sure your car is not falling apart or leaking any fluids

will ask if you're faster then 13.99, if yes they will check your helmet.

will ask if you're 11.49 or faster, and if you are, they will do a full safety check on your rollcage.

They let me drag before with no muffler. The guy looked under the car while it was on the trailer. He said he'll overlook it that one time, but next time the car will stay on the trailer in the pits.

Damn, wish I could go, curious as to what times I can hit with my stock car in the quarter mile. The word "SONIC" always refers to something fast, a fitting name for our 'lil turbo cars huh lol!

If "must have a muffler" is a regular rule for this sort of thing, then does it make sense to remove the resonator instead of the muffler? I'd been planning to do it the other way around, but now this has me wondering.

Also, has anyone checked their "decibels at 50 feet" number?

I have no muffler and no res and I am not worried one bit that it will be a problem. The rule is more directed at non-streetable cars that arrive on trailers.

I can understand your concern if this is your first time running the qtr, but trust me when I say that the inspection process wont be very thorough, especially for our under-the-radar ecoboxes.

not sure, other events they've gone to was $20 pull, which is basically paying the workers to take the car on/off, safely secure the car on the machine and your print out
