Completely off topic, but Spa Turbo has a manifold that will fit the 1.8 head, but will require longer exhaust manifold studs, and the rerouting of the coolant bypass that runs across the front of the block. If u are willing to adjust,you can make it work...part #TMOP05. The rerouting of the coolant line scares me away

I don't see the point of adding the map into play. The tuning will be the breaking point high comp abd boost can be fun but is a pain for tuning

+1 for tuning...the Honda guys have been running turbo/high comp successfully for years

turbo and high compression isnt my concern. I was running a T3/T04E at 10 PSI on a 10.5:1 CR gm 2.4L with a very conservative tune. My concern is the stock parts holding up to even 200 WHP. Keep in mind that the highest HP 1.6T in this family is only about 205-210 at the crank.

Good point, There must be a reason none of the N/A Opel/Vauxhalls have kits offering over 200 hp. Even on the factory turbo models you don't see the big #s without forged internals. I would still like to see this guy successfully turbo his 1.8...even 180to200 is a decent street car...better than mine

Ok guys test fitted the manifold today.... It fits but...the damn oil filter lol no room. So back to the drawing board. But im the meantime im going to do a N.A build. Ur thoughts???

You will have just as much if not more money in a n/a build.

Everything will have to be custom made

I know what the manifold/turbo is from, I have looked into it before. I also highly doubt the 1.8 oil cooler/filter housing will work with the 1.6 manifold/turbo. Assuming you dont hit the oil filter cap the 1.6 DP should fit a 1.8 in theory.

Well since the 1.8 and 1.4 use the same housing. Have you looked into the 1.6 or housing?

How much space do you have couldn't really tell with the pic.

I superimposed the stock 1.8 filter housing over the 1.6T housing and made it 50% transparent, and guess what????? The bolt holes seem to be an exact match!!!!!
